This young man has a strong ideas on many things: The biggest of which is his faith in Jesus Christ’s atonement as a central component of the family and the glue that holds it together.

“When push comes to shove, family is what needs to hold together,” he wrote to his mom this week. “Yes, we make and have made many mistakes, and I still do, but ‘No unhallowed hand can stop the work’ as the scripture says. Not even our imperfections.”

He goes on to say, ” I love you and the whole family and miss you, but there is a work to be done and I am called to the task and will see it through. No worries here. I’m where I need to be. 🙂 ”

Here is Elder Ballif’s recent letter he sent on email to a group he calls…

Hey everybody,

It has been a great two transfers, I am now done training and am getting tranferred out of Kokomo which came as a surprise to me.
Will miss Elder Christiansen Kokomo

Will miss Elder Christiansen Kokomo

It usually doesn’t happen that way but I am excited and ready to go to a different area. We don’t find out until the day of transfers, which is Tuesday, so I will let you know where I am at ASAP.
I really don’t know how to describe these past few months except to say that I have done a lot of growing for the better during them. I have learned humility and have learned to love everybody and to give everybody a chance because they might surprise you.
This week specifically was really awesome, we challenged two people, a girl named Claire and another named Timi, to baptism and both accepted which is awesome! Timi has over-exceeded our expectations. She has progressed insanely fast and accepted baptism on the first lesson, and would probably have gotten baptized on the spot right then. We are hoping that the other two who come in will take care of her. We will definitely be checking in with them. Thank you all for your love and support I really appreciate it.
See ya Kokomo!! Im out!
